Sorry about the title; I needed an attention grabber.
Would it be a good idea to borrow the “self-rolling-cord” that is used in many vacuum cleaners for use on EVs for Better Place?
The idea being, you don’t have a loose cord that you store under your car seat, with the possibility of loosing or forgetting it. It seems more convenient to me that you exit your car, open a flap, and pull the cord out and plug it in to your charge spot. Before getting back into your car, you unplug and simply allow the cord to rollback into the car.
There are many potential problems with this system, but what do you all think?

I like the idea of the self rolling cord. If I were you I'd check to see if a patent exists for it yet. I just patented a way to recharge the battery via chemical replacement so that you can pull up to a "gas pump" instead of having to construct the infrastructure to replace the whole battery shell.

hmm, interesting. Better place are working on solution to make the whole thing hands free. meaning we do not need to do anything anymore apart from just parking next to the charging spot. but until that is sorted your idea could be of help. one problem i see is that when the cable is pluged in and someone cuts it. it will be much more difficult to replace than a simple cord that plugs in on both sides. but in general i think its a good idea.
