I'm exploring a concept for a pick-up and go rental car system with electric cars. These cars will be available at predetermined unmanned pick-up and drop places equipped with charging systems. Cars will be equipped with integrated iPhone for communications with a fleet control central and bar scanner for reading a drivers license. The charger stations should be equipped with a card reader and be able to "release" the charging cable upon completion of rental transaction, etc. Does anyone have information of systems or equipment that can provide any or all of this functionality?

The 21th of Mars 2009, Elfordonsintressenternas Riksförbund,ELFIR, (http://www.evguide.nu/forenram.html) will have an event in Stockholm Tekniska Museet, in connection with the annual general meeting. There will be several interesting speaches and possibilities to test drive electrical vehicles, during the day. It is open for anyone, no entrance fee.
