there's no real membership involved. there are several cbed developments in various stages of development, there are a few that are operational. there are a few non profits that are involved in disseminating information and have been pretty successful. two pretty good sources are nawo.org (george crocker, north american water office) and windustry (lisa daniels). both very good. c-bed.org is also a good website. I'm more on the development side of things and have about 30 years in the wind industry. time goes fast. another good source of information is ilsr (institute for local self reliance-john farrel)...
hi justine, thanks for the invite. there are many inspiring people here. you mention that you write for social earth...I checked out the website and thought that you may be interested in doing a story on community based energy development. there are quite a few cbed projects under development in the state of minnesota (and mn has passed cbed legislation-other states have subsequently passed similar legislation). cbed is grassroots energy development which is a much different approach to energy generation and where our energy comes from. it seems it would fit in with social earth..
