Yes, I would like to see India as a Better place :)!! I have seen groups in this forum as Better Place Spain, India and many more. Obviously, I have joined for Better Place India. Does these forums are active in their respective places? or it is a representation of their places. Because, if there is any active Better Place group in India, I would like to be an active participant.
Thanks for briefing the point. Yes, in India, people wont fill their fuel tanks more than 5 litres. As the fuel cost is expensive in India, people can afford for less fuel and accomdate their travelling within that range. 1 litre of petrol costs arnd 50 Rupees ( ~ 1 $). From my observation, I havent seen any drastic involvement with respect to Electric cars, Green revolution in India. I am in touch with NGO's here who are working on this concept. Unfortunately, I dont see any government involvement in improving the situation in India.
Hi Vijayendra V S,
to me Shais comment to india means that the average indian cannot fill up the whole gas tank at the gas station but is just able to buy 2-3 gallons at once which gives roughly a range of 60-80 km until the next refill. With the cheaper electricity it would be possible to recharge the battery with the full charge providing 150 km or so until the next recharge. As the EV can be recharged during any parking time the needed money to drive will be even less per recharge effectively smoothing out the "invest" needed for refueling and driving.
Amazing talk! He mentioned about India as "extension of range and not the reduction of range", the range here means the number of miles the car can drive?
